I've decided to buy the stand-alone disc version instead. I'm looking forward to Episodes of Liberty City and I sure hope it's good because I was kinda letdown by GTA 4 in a variety of ways. The original GTA 4 is still a very good game, but it should have been a lot better than it was. I still own my copy of GTA 4 however and I might just go back to it to refresh myself when I'm ready to play the Episodes.

The answer for me as a PS3-only owner is NO. I've played Gears of War 2 and I thought it was quite good. But it did'nt really wow me in any way. To me it's just another decent action/shooting game with beefed up space marine heroes blasting away at aliens. I dont mind that stuff, but those kind of games like that and the Halo series just dont really bowl me over anymore. Killzone 2 is doin me just fine for that scenario.

No one on here seems to be giving the impression that they suddenly now care about EDGE scores because they appear to be giving a potential AAA 360 exclusive a lower-than-expected score. I really do think that gaming industry is over-saturated with first-person shooters. Dont get me wrong at all, I do like FPS games are very well made and fun to play, eg. GUN was a similar type of Game to Red Dead and I'm really looking forward to this. Red Dead Redemption looks even better than I imagined it to be after seeing the screenshots and reading more info about the game. I'm also getting Liberty City Episodes for the PS3 aswell. Rockstar are getting into my good books once more.

All of the previous GTA games in the last gen before GTA 4 were based primarily on realism or realistic themes on Mafia, organaized crime and street gangs. That was what made GTA immensely popular in the first place - it gave mature players the ability live out their gangster/thug fantasies in an realistic open-world setting in a video game.
I think the problem with GTA 4 was that there simply was not enough balance between the realism within the storyline and the fun elements....
